Hotels can make vacation-at-home feel like paradise

Every year, tens of thousands of people from around the world flee from the demands of everyday life to be pampered at some of the Valley's best resorts and hotels. So, what's a Valley resident to do, take the tourist's place in Des Moines or Cleveland? Um, no. Stay home. Well, not home exactly. But a quick trip in your car can take you the paradise around the corner. There, you can try on these deals.

Fall deals

The deal: Staycation at W Scottsdale.

The deal: $100 resort credit at Desert Ridge Resort.

The deal: Fall savings at Four Seasons Troon North.

The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is offering a variety of fall packages. The "Stay Longer" deal includes a third night free with the purchase of two nights. Rates begin at $295 a night. Valid through Jan. 3. The "Experience More" package includes a $100 resort credit when you book two nights. This offer is good Nov. 29-Dec. 22. If golf is your thing, the "Fall Golf" special includes a casita guest room, one round of golf per person per paid night, access to the driving range and breakfast or lunch in Crescent Moon. Rates begin at $530 per night for a single or $705 per night for a double, through Jan. 3.

The deal: Rate special at Westin Kierland.

Stay one night at the Westin Kierland Resort and get 50 percent off the second night. Offer valid with a minimum four-night stay (two nights at full price, two at half price) through Dec. 31 when you mention the "Better Tomorrows" package.

The deal: Second night half price at Wild Horse Pass.

For every night you pay the regular rate, get the next night for 50 percent off (minimum two-night stay) at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass on the Gila River Reservation. Rates from $209 per night. The offer is good through Dec. 31. Stays must be prepaid and are not refundable.

The deal: Golf at Xona Resort Suites, Scottsdale.

The "Grip It Rip It Package" features savings of up to 65 percent on one-night stays and 55 percent on two-night stays through Dec. 31. Stay up to four nights for $129 per night and get a round of golf at the TPC Champions Course (worth up to $131). Get a second round of golf for $99. The package also includes a breakfast buffet at Asada Desert Grille.

The deal: Ocatilla at Arizona Biltmore.

Check out this "hotel within a hotel" with a package that starts at $299 per night, based on availability. It includes an Ocatilla Club Room with mountain views and lounge access, 50 percent off spa services, continental breakfast, resort fee, plus lunch and dinner for two at Biltmore restaurants.

The deal: $100 resort credit at Montelucia.

The "Great Escape" offer at the Intercontinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley provides a $100 credit to be used anywhere on the property, including Joya Spa, Prado restaurant and Kasbah Pool Bar and Grille. A two-night minimum stay is required. Subject to availability.
